This blog is in itself a new adventure. In planning our trips, many people have helped us with advice on where to go and where to stay and what to do. Others have asked us for the details of our trips. As a result, we feel that a site as a repository of our experiences and learning might be useful for storing our memories and for sharing with others. We’d love to hear feedback on our blog and how we can get better.

My husband, Bill Weir, and I have been sailing for only 17 years despite our advanced ages. I started a little earlier because my brother, Steve, was a sailor and I sailed with him. However, we have covered a lot of geography on sailboats: British Columbia, Nova Scotia/Cape Breton, Great Lakes (Ontario, Erie, Huron, Georgian Bay, North Channel), Florida USA, Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco, British Virgin Islands.

I think this blog is terrific and will allow you to keep many happy memories and details in the cloud instead of in your filing cabinet. Mike and I did basically the same trip, but a tour for two. It went so fast we only knew we loved it, but the rest is a blur. I think you get a much better sense of a country and culture when you try and navigate it yourself. Look forward to more…

Hi, Susan. Thank you for your encouraging comments. The blog does give you a repository for your memories. I think I will keep at it in whatever places we travel.
